Fennel is extremely popolar and loved by cooks for its use in the kitchen. To grow, it requires a position in full sun, best in a fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Plants can be planted outside in spring or early summer. 
Removing developing flower heads will prolong the supply of leaves, but the seeds themselves are also useful and can be used in cooking. Leaves can be harvested anytime they are available.
