Money Plant (Crassula Ovata) - small
When they're mature, Money Plants grow upright in the form of a branching shrub and can reach up to two metres in height!
They're household favourites in China and across the world by practitioners of feng shui for their supposed ability to attract good luck and wealth.
Money Plants are easy to grow and keep alive, so make the perfect plant for budding plant parents.
Watering
Crassulas are extremely drought-tolerant, so underwatering is better than overwatering. Too much water can lead to root rot, which could kill your plant! Make sure the excess water drains away easily to stop it from sitting in water.
Thin, floppy, wrinkled leaves could be a sign that your plant needs a drink.
The soil around a Money Plant can become compacted. If this happens, pierce the soil with a wooden skewer to break it up before watering.
Light
Money Plants enjoy bright light, so a south or west-facing windowsill is perfect.
Without enough sun, the plant will grow very slowly and might become leggy.
Be careful not to give it too much direct sunlight though as this may turn the leaves yellow.
Humidity
Avoid humid environments, such as bathrooms – Crassulas don't like too much moisture.
Plant type
Succulent.
